It is literally cut off from the rest of the city. There is one major street going through it. On one end of the major street are train tracks. If there are trains going through there they go on forever. Then on the other end of the street is a river. The bridge that goes over the river is constantly going up to let boats by. There have been several times like today where there is a big boat taking forever on the river and then a loooong train down the road. If this happens you are literally stuck for a while. Then ounce both of them pass the traffic is terrible!!!!! It's from he movie "The Lion King". The memery it makes me remember is my birthday from the year it came out. I spent my birthday in Illinois that year. My family is down there and I had my party at their house. They have a huge pool and I had a pool party. I got to swim all day and then I got to open my presents!!! My birthday cake had a picture of Simba and Nala from the movie. After I was done with cake and stuff my Cousin took me to see the movie at the theater. It was the first time I ever saw a movie at the theater. I loved it. It was so moch fun. That was on of my happiest birthdays ever.

Dialog

I chose to do mine on drinking and driving. There are sveral views on this topic but I want to keep it to four diiferent people.

You Don't always die from tobacco video

The video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xRHvZazd4IM uses some strong retoric. That question leaves me a little torn. On one side I am a christian and would love to see my holidays recognized. On the other hand I can see how that would be unfair. If christian holidays are celebrated then so should other religion's holidays also. It wouldn't be right to only celebrate christmas or easter. Universities have such diverse people. They have people from many different backgrounds and religions. Other people shouldn't be forced to celebrtate something they don't believe in. I decided that if I did end up getting one that it would be something meaningful to me. Something I wouldn't totally regret later on in life. I also decided to place it somewhere it can be easily hidden, because they aren't something you would like showing when you are in an interview with an employer. But what should I get? Ive always wanted to get a big cross on my shoulder, and I am italian, so I would like to play around with those two ideas and come up with something. I hear that getting a tattoo is somewhat painful, but I can't imagine it being that bad, especially on the shoulder. Has anyone on here ever gotten a tattoo before? We have all been friends since grade school and still stay close to this day. We all searched around for the cheapest price for our long awaited spring break in Cancun Mexico. Man was it going to be a trip of a lifetime!! We ended up hearing about a special deal from a company called Magic Carpet Tours. As we learned more about the trip we eventually booked the trip with this company, as well as many other people. As the time grew closer we all got more and more excited, only to get disappointed. The night before we were leaving I had my luggage all packed sitting by the door, ready to go. I was at the mall buying some shoes for the trip around 8pm when I recieved a call from my brother telling me to come home. When I got home my family dropped the bomb on me. The airline had called and told us that the company went bankrupt and we were without a trip. We were speachless. Everyone from our high school grade was going...except us. We frantically tried to find another trip, calling agent after agent but unfortunaltly we couldn't find anything it time. We than booked a rush trip to Panama. Not Panama Florida, but Panama. When we got to the resort we realised that we should have jsut stayed home. It ended up being a honeymooners resort. There was nothing there but couples and old people. After a somewhat depressing week we returned home and were the laughing stock of the school. lol...ahh the memories!

300

So I'm sure everyone knows about the movie 300 by now. But what you don't know is that I have it sitting in my DVD player as we speak. There is this guy that I know that can get any movie imaginable!! Ive had it for about a week and I have watched it close to 11 times now. Hehe. I enjoyed the movie so much I even encorporated it into my essay. I think the real reason why I enjoyed that movie so much is because of the greek mythology. I have always been amazed and interested in greek mythology and plan on taking that course at wayne state whether it counts towards my degree or not. Has anyone ever taken the course before? I would like to know if it really is the interesting stuff or if its just a bunch of boring history about greece we have all heard or seen before.

workworkwork

Well, the other week i got an added set of responsibilities. I work for a local web hosting company. While most work (sales, billing, tech support, remote administration of servers) is done from our canton office, we also utilize two data centers. gnax down in Atlanta, (we rent servers there, about 120, give or take) and a newer one, XO Communications in Southfield. In this one we actually rent out cage space, power, and bandwidth. We then build servers in the office and bring them down. Since we are colocating, hardware modifications, upgrades, and repairs are our responsibility. Now, its really sucks to stay in a data center cage all day, so we don't go there unless we have to. However, atleast one person on every shift (24/7) has to have security access to our servers at the XO facility. I recently got asked if i would be willing to be the person to head down on my shift should the need arise. Of course i agreed. I had to sign this crazy contact and then i got this nifty ADT proximity security card. Its kinda scary though, if i keep the door open for more than 15 seconds at a time, the fuzz busts down the wall. It makes me feel kinda needed and important to be the one to go down there when things explode. Hopefully a raise will soon follow. (probably at my next performance review)

World Champions

Ever since I was little there is one thing I always wanted to witness, at least once, and that was for Italy to win the world cup. As the time crept closer to the world cup I become more and more disappointed and more weary, thinking that I would just get excited for nothing. Now was I wrong or what!? I had the time of my life when italy finally pulled through. Here in windsor there is a large italian community, so we have our own little itlay. It is something comparable to greek town or mexican town. There were so many people all over erie street (little italy) you were shoulder to shoulder with the people next to you. After they won everyone rushed the street and we started chanting, shouting, dancing, and having an all out good time, all followed by the much hated parade. Every time Italy would win everyone with jerseys, flags and a car would pile into anyones care and we would all drive in a large parage all over the city screaming and yelling, cheering our team on. Im sure everyone in the city can't stand it when we do it, but we just have to! The parade was so large we had windsor police that came out to direct traffic so we would be able to continue in a straight line! Now that I have finally wittnessed a win, I can't wait until the next one!

Skoal, a pinch better ;)

Oh dip, how I love you so! For those of you that are unfamiliar with what I am refering to, perhaps you have seen me walking around or sitting in class with a fat lip and spitting into a bottle. I know it sounds grose, but there's something about it that I just love. It all started about a year ago when an aquintance of mine and I became closer as friends. Him, being a baseball player, got me into chewing tobacco. Ever since than the addiction has spread to a good number of my close friends and we all get together, have a dip, and hang out or go for a drive in the downtown area. Now the only good part about chewing tobacco is that it comes in many different flavours like wintergreen, peach, and citrus. I never anticipated the addiction becoming so great but it is the first thing I look for in the morning and last thing I do before I sleep. There are many more instances in which I have a "lipper" as they are called but I am just showing how the addiction can really grab a hold of ones actions. I don't think it is any healthier for you than smoking but it is definatly a much better alternative in my oppinion. Any other dippers out there? If so, I think you should look for the "chew boys" group on facebook and be sure to join!

High School vs. University

Through my own personal experience I havn't really seen much a change between high school and university. Honestly, is there really a difference? You pick your courses, fill your requirements, read your text books, write tests, do assignments and finals. Last I checked that was the same schedule as high school students. Now eveyone always talks about the workload being so much more difficult, but I am yet to see anything that is expected of me that wasn't already expected in high school. Mind you I speak from my personal experience being in the Canadian educational system. Perhaps it is different for the american students but I feel I have been fully prepared for university and it was definitly an easy transition. Anyone care to differ?
