Bits Of My Tech Bio

Kindergarten through first grade, I attended Ella Fitzgerald Elementary school . Second through fourth grade I attended Brady Elementary. For fifth grade I went to Burt Elementary. For sixth grade I only attended Frank Murphy middle school. Once my mom and I moved to Redford Twp, I attended Pierce middle school for seventh and eighth grade. When middle school was over, I attended the neighboring high school Lee M Thurston from which I graduated from. Now I’m here at WSU.

I am an only child and I craved a lot of attention. My mom would read one book in particular to me every night before we went to bed called, "The Small Pig". I’d eventually memorized the book. One night while my mom was having a party, I sat at the edge of the steps and starting what they thought was reading. I read the memorized words as loud as I could. I also knew exactly when the pages needed to be turned. Her company was in awe of how smart I was. I had a previous history of knowing all of my colors and writing my name at a very young age, so this would fit into my plan of making people believe I could really read a whole book at four. My mom and dad encouraged me to read

I don’t have a favorite book. I have a favorite publishing company called Triple Crown Publications. The company was started by a woman named Vickie Stringer for Chicago, Illinois. She has actually wrote two books that were published through her own company called "Dirty Red" and "Imagine This". My favorite out of the two is "Dirty Red". She was a single parent with a dream that came true. For that she inspires me to write my own books. Some people call the genre of the books through her publication, "hood books" but I just simply call them African American Fiction. I have read all of the books from her publication.

On an average day, I read a few chapters from the most current book I’ve purchased. I can read a thirty-five chapter book in two days. If the book is interesting, I can not stop turning the pages. I’ve read over one hundred books in the past three years. By reading so many books, I’ve been inspired to write my own. I actually personally know Micheal Moore, an author that is on the "Essence Best Sellers List". She right here from the Metro Detroit area. She has agreed to help me with my book once I get it fully prepared.

I don’t belong to any online social networking sites because they are not important to me. In middle school, I belonged to Blackplant.com. So when I think of sites like Facebook, MySpace and Crushspot, it takes me back to middle school. I’ve been out of the loop for so long, I don’t know if I would fit back into it.
