The Wonders of Words!

Word games (like Catch Phase) force you to think outside of the “box”. Clues are given to you and as a player you are expected to guess the word they are describing. Not everyone thinks alike and there interpretation of the word may be very different from yours, everyone will take a different approach to a word making it difficult to guess the word correctly. I personally love word games but there are a few exceptions. A few of my favorite word games are Taboo, chain reaction, and wheel of Fortune. Word games are always a challenge and each time you play it is never the same.

Taboo is one of my favorite games also. I think that when playing word games the most fun comes from everyone being different and interpreting things in their own way. In my opinion the game would be boring if everyone thought alike.

I agree with the both of you. Not only would it be boring, but it would make the games much easier since everyone would be thinking alike. That would completely take the wonder and mystery out of the game. So I guess it really is a good thing we're all different afterall. :)

Yeah I agree with everything you guys have said. Another reason why lots of people, including myself, enjoy playing word games are because they dont only build your communication and linguistic skills but they're also really fun. One of my favorite word games I used to play a whole lot growing up was "Literati" on Yahoo games. Its almost like the word game of Hang-man we all grew up playing. You guys should check it out for yourselves at: http://games.yahoo.com/word-games
